The first half of 2025 is already behind us. Family films reign supreme in theaters. Attendance results at a similar level as last year. Second quarter on the upside + 17%.

Polish cinemas were visited by more than 23 million viewers during the six months of this year. This is a comparable result to the same period in 2024. In the first half of 2025 we had 160 movie premieres on the big screen. The second quarter results are positive, the number of tickets sold is 1.5 million more than last year. This is due to the repertoire, which we could not complain about from April to June.

Family, live action films are currently the biggest winners of the Polish and global BoxOffice. Minecraft: The Movie, from Warner, with an audience of 2.6 million is one of the top films of the year. It attracted as many as 1 million fans on the big screen in its first few days of screening. This is the best cinema opening in the history of cinema in Poland (!). So far, the gold medal belonged to Kler, from 2018 (the result of 900 thousand viewers).

The May release of Lilo&Stich also recorded significant results. More than 1.6 million tickets sold in Poland and high box office results worldwide. This bodes well for this Disney production and all products associated with the franchise. The film has been praised by critics. It must be recognized that the studio has done very well with the new adaptation of the iconic 2002 animation.

The podium, in third place, is closed by a super production that premiered in theaters in January, namely Sonic 3: Fast as Lightning. This sequel to the adventures of the super hedgehog attracted more than 1.5 million viewers to Polish cinemas.

The list of films with an audience of millions also includes two, Polish (!) productions. Kleks and Invention by Filip Golarz, a continuation of the story of the heroes of Mr. Kleks Academy, the super hit of 2024, and the surprise of the first quarter, 100 Days to Matriculation, from the makers of Ekipa.
